Be Glad to Feel Better and Get Over This Cold

I am so glad that it is the weekend. I have been sick with a cold for two weeks but this week I have really been sick. Sleeping a lot and just feeling bad. Today is somewhat better but so glad it is the weekend and can rest all weekend. I know they say this is a bad year for the flu so glad we got the flu shot. Hope everyone is doing okay and avoiding this flue and cold that is going around.

I haven't been feeling like doing anything at all so this is the first day I have felt like posting. Hoping to get back in the swing next week. Until then Stay Warm, drink lots of Orange Juice and stay well.

Throw Back Thursday Books I loved and Read in the past

When I was a kid I didn't like to read because I struggled so much. In fourth grade I was sent to a group to help me with my reading and to get me caught up to me grade level. The teacher was great and actually made reading fun. It was in this group that I learned to sound words out and to have fun reading. I soon was reading at my level and beyond and was always with a book. I would wake up early on Saturdays about 6 am just so I could read. More than once I would sneak a book to read when I was suppose to be sleeping. As I start being able to buy books my love grew even more because now these were my books to have and read anytime I wanted.
In the summer between my 4th and 5th grade the Bookmobile parked every week in the dead end street next to my house. The first day it arrived I couldn't wait to go in and check out the books. I can remember just looking at all of them, having trouble finding one to check out and take home to read. The driver finally showed me this one book and said I would probably like it and so I decided on that one... I will never forget that book. I loved it. Now years later I have found this book again and think it is the perfect one to start off with on our Throw Back Thursday blog post. I think any child would love reading this book it is so fun and I would recommend. The book is

Wake Up Call in A Call to Resurgence by Mark Driscoll

A Call to Resurgence by Mark Driscoll is a must read for Christians. Mark tells us that we need to wake up and realize that if we don't start looking at what is going on in our country when it comes to Christians then our churches and Christians are going to go away.  It is a call for us, as believers, to get our heads out of the sand and to start back to the basics in putting God first.

This is a well written book that is thought provoking and eye opening. If you think that Christianity in our country is going strong this book will show you that is not true. We need to move on from the feel good religion into a working meaningful relationship with God and strive to be like him in all we do. We are still in the business of taking care of others and being the light in a dark world not a hide behind the church Christian.

I really think that this book should be read by all that are believers and that we need to be a part of the resurgence.

      Good book to read.

This book was given to me by Tyndale Publishing for free to give my honest opinion and review.

5 Stars to My Hope Is Found by Joanne Bischof

My Hope is Found  The Cadence of Grace book 3 by Joanne Bischof

Gideon is headed back to Lonnie and his son Jacob after Cassie tells him to go home and that they can get the marriage annulled. Gideon starts for home but things don't go as smoothly as he had hoped.
Lonnie has to try to move on from her life with Gideon she decides and Rev Toby McKee is glad to fill that spot in her heart and to love and take care of her, Jacob and her sister Addie. Just when she thinks she might be able to move on Gideon shows back up sending her in to confusion.
Will Gideon get his annulment, will Lonnie give her heart to Gideon or Toby?

I give this book 5 stars.  As a reader you ride along with Lonnie, Gideon and Toby on the roller coaster ride of emotions. I found myself routing for Gideon to win Lonnie's heart.
This book is about finding peace, love and hope through faith and God. Lonnie has relied on her faith and must continue to rely on God to show her what to do. Gideon must find a relationship with God before he can find peace and hope for his life. He must grow from a man who is quick to anger and only thinking of himself, to one who is patient and who thinks what is best for others.  Gideon makes so many mistakes by always worrying about his past and all his past mistakes that he finds himself messing up what he wants in his present life. How many of us find we do that too?  We focus more on what we were and did than on God and what he wants for us.

I think that Lonnie grew in her faith by relying on God for answers to do what was best for her and her son. Toby grew by allowing God to work in him and through him, even when it wasn't sometimes what he wanted to do. Gideon grew by learning to turn to God and letting God in to change him. It is a journey for him and the reader. I think one of my favorite parts from the book was when Gideon said he wanted the peace others had and wanted to know how to find it, he was tired of blaming everyone and God for all his trouble and he cried out to God to forgive him and " In the still small place of his heart, he heard the most beautiful words in the strongest of voices. It's forgiven. You're forgiven. He drew in a deep breath and felt a cleansing wash through him." pg 296 I found myself get caught up with Gideon and a remembering how I felt when God forgave me.

This book will take you from happy to sad to peace and just when you think all hope is lost you find hope in knowing God and that his timing for everything is just right. Gideon has to go through what he does in order to find peace and hope in God, not in himself or others, and to trust in God's plan.

I highly recommend this book and in fact the whole Cadence of Grace Series. You won't be disappointed. I think this is a very encouraging and inspirational book of love, faith and Hope.

    I am Back

    <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11581895/?claim=wrd79yj6v82">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

I know it has been awhile since I posted anything but the end of 2013 was kind of hectic. I had to have surgery and had an infection twice so didn't get much reading let alone blogging done. I am back and doing good now. The biopsy was benign and I am back to being able to lift and do normal things again including finding time to read. I have added my blog to Bloglovin too in hopes to get more followers to share what we are reading together.
